this story from Treehugger.com caught my attention and has proven some of my theories of late; that being at the top of the food chain is both our blessing (what a buffet of choices we have!) and our demise (dioxins are more powerful than most wish to believe). Doctors believe that through some political ploy Viktor Yushchenko was poisoned through the food he ate with dioxins and the degeneration of his skin occured in a few mere months. The poisons that Yushchenko was administered are the same things that occur naturally in the foods we all eat, just on a smaller scale; and the degenerative disease that results from these dioxins affects us all over a longer period of time.
Dioxins aren't REALLY naturally occurring though, they are a product of human industry. ouch.
