oh the joys of hate

There is balance in the world.
Both sides of every equation equal zero.

Isn't it funny how the things we use these days to make our lives easier end up participating in our most stressful moments?
I know I'm not the first to make this observation, but I just wanted to mention it as a response to a special someone's road trip to Dallas occurring RIGHT NOW.
Traffic, traffic, traffic. The silent killer. I bet traffic has caused a few hernias and heart attacks along the way.
It's not REALLY traffic though, is it?
It's the stressful workday, the accumulating lack of rest and relaxation, the argument with a friend or a lover, the anger built up inside ready to explode at any moment. Traffic fucking sucks. If you let it. Traffic = Time Wasted , right?
We let these technological advances such as computers and automobiles and 18 lane freeways get to the best of us when they don't do exactly what you'd hoped they would; make your life a piece of cake. Truth is, nothing can make life easy. The more items you add on to your equation, the more difficult it gets; but it always balances at zero.
Anger turns to blame. Blame turns into resentment. Where does it end?

A moment of intense hatred for everyperson, everyminute, everything.
Then it's over.
Being stuck in traffic is, perhaps, a metaphor for anything that causes extreme loathing and appetite for destruction. Blaming isn't the answer, and neither is ramming your head against the steering wheel, no matter how good it might feel compared to the grinding of your teeth. Fuck ups happen, wrong turns happen, bad directions happen, getting on the road later that you'd wished happens. Listen to me for Chrissake. I'm preaching against perfection. I think this may be a development...if only I could snap open my laptop and read this post when I'm feeling in the mood to break some glass with the nearest throwable object.
